Smoking is really bad for you, like did ya know?! It has been linked to lung cancer, heart disease and a slew of other health problems. That's scary, but as much sense as this makes I wonder what kind of people are still cool enough to think that smoking is cute and glamorous. Whether they stumble upon shots of glitzy well-dressed men and women enjoying real cigs, famous actors elbow-deep in fake ones on the silver screen or casual puffing strangers lighting up during a show. This sort of advertising made smoking glamorous, more fashionable and cooler that what it truly did.
In some countries, a new law has been come into existence called plain packaging which are primarily truth of selling cigarettes. Cigarette companies must use ordinary colors without fancy logos and bright gestures to produce their products. Bear in mind that these packets are actually plain and feature large warning paragraphs of the irrevocable harm smoking does to public health.
This is a goal to decrease the appeal of smoking for children. They seem not so cool or good looking without patterns in designing on cigarette boxes, and they consider it less attempted to burn a cigarette. And they certainly may not be apt to picking up smoking when their drivers diose with cigarette labels warning of the dangers. Anything that will make you want to be healthier
In those nations where PLAIN PACKAGING has now been introduced, smoking rates have obviously by and large gone down. The public announcement that people are leaving Cigarette and have a bit of relief for their health. This is not only beneficial to the smokers, but it means less second hand smoke in our atmosphere. It is also dangerous to non-smokers from second-hand smoke, especially children and women who are pregnant so the less smokers there are means everyone can live in a more healthy environment.
Before the plain packaging legislation, cigarette firms had exemption to market their items in different locations. They could post large billboards in densely populated areas, do events to promote awareness of their cigarettes and even give out free samples. Those were some then, & the youth// let them get away with selling us trumpet; it made smoking look cool.
However, as the anti-plain packaging backlash has grown stronger, this sort of cigarette advertising is on its way out. Because soon or later it will be forbidden to have cigarette logos on sports players uniforms and popular magazines. So this just means that smoking is being erased from public life. Even, if smoking do not see so he want to smoke in less amount atleast.
It is not as if this mentality will even form overnight. They made significant changes to the smokiness part but have a long way ahead for converting relatable visual components of smoking from lifestyle product to health hazard landscape. But if we push for it, maybe someday smoking will just be: not cool or edgy—but dangerous.
