But the majority of experts reckon that big tobacco is pulling a fast one - they know plain packaging will help reduce smoking. Easier to cut from the top because they know, Less people smoke = less of a slice for them.
That is why one of the first things many will ask, especially after considering a powerful headline like that, is whether these plain packaging laws are going to help us get thorugh with this dream for a world without smoking. These laws even if are made for the good so that number of addicts may go down but these wont be a full stop to this issue. On the other hand, it is a lot of effort and at the same time smoking cessation support demands attention from friends or family. But plain packaging could well be one piece of a larger strategy to challenge the audiences who are in most danger from starting smoking.
